An Exploration of Hurt in Our Lives
We all know what hurt is. Or do we? We seem to know what it feels like, who made us feel it, and how to escape it. But is our perception of hurt only very superficial? There seems no end to being hurt and to carrying the memories of it throughout our lives. Often, there is even no wish to be free of it: blaming others apparently protects me and these strong feelings prove I am sensitive, don’t they?
Krishnamurti suggests that maintaining hurt and continuing blame is destroying our quality of life and relationship. He asks if it is possible never to be hurt again? We shall be exploring this issue together, seeing if we can probe and question our way into a deeper understanding of both conscious and unconscious hurt in our lives.
Our investigation will need honesty, attentive listening and a lot of thinking together to go beyond our ideas, conclusions and solutions. Can we uncover the actual movement and depth of hurt in the mind, and can we end it?
We will meet each day for a 2 1/2-hour session that will include but not be limited to discussion/dialogue, some short video clips and short excerpts from texts.
