Giving

The KFA's mission (to preserve AND disseminate all of Krishnamurti's teachings, given over a 60 year period) reflects the vastness of Krishnamurti's passion for humanity. He wanted the Krishnamurti Foundations to ensure that his lifetime body of work be made available to everyone, everywhere. Fiscal sustainability is needed, in order to speed the process, and to provide many different ways for people to explore the teachings during these challenging times.

We are fast becoming a global community through the power of the internet, yet the mathematics for the KFA are still difficult. We have 15,000 people on our mailing list, yet only 1,200 support the KFA with a donation each year. Our gap between income and expenses is about $850,000 annually.

If we do the math, we can see that the KFA will eventually run out of resources to complete its mission. If everyone else on our mailing list gave just $10 a month, that would be an increase of $1,656,000 – enough reliable income over the next few years to rapidly finish the task of digitizing the collection; expand current programs; increase the number of foreign languages; ensure the future of Oak Grove School; and create a gold standard website for free access to all of Krishnamurti's work.

With such strength, the KFA and Oak Grove School could have a major influence in education, in how to explore the workings of consciousness, and in bringing Krishnamurti's work into prominence as the world seeks to rapidly deepen its understanding of interdependence.

This year could be the beginning of a fiscal turnaround for the KFA, and a period of intensification of all our efforts to share the work of Krishnamurti in meaningful and relevant ways. We are already a global community, and if each one of us can find that $10 a month or more, we will have inhabited our ideas of interdependence in a practical way, with effects in the world we cannot even imagine.

To both new and returning donors, we extend our gratitude for whatever ways you can help close the gap. Your generosity directly translates into our programs and services.
