Kindly be mindful of the following points regarding the forum. Dialogue is thinking together - it isn’t debate - and it's inquiring together without end point or agenda. People come into the dialogue from their own place of understanding, which is not going to be your place of understanding. We’re here to communicate together, learn together and gain insight into our own thought; to receive and share our observations, not impose our views on others. Address the comments in a polite, considerate manner. By all means, ask for clarification, but challenge the comment, not the commentator. We don’t know enough about the others to make those judgments and we’re here to learn about ourselves, not to correct another's perceived personality flaws. If a comment brings an emotional response, look at that. Do you feel the need to defend? To attack? Time for some looking inward. Self protection results in war. Besides, the war is in each of us. Stop that war, and the rest will take care of itself. (For some suggestions on the nature of dialogue, please click here)

If I was 32% body fat I would probably dig the northern latitudes also....though I would still no doubt miss the fresh tree ripened tropical fruits and the strong sun, amongst other things.

Maybe I should fatten up a little and move to Alaska this winter so I can joyously heckle all the tropical hedonists while enjoying my artificial light marathon--a marathon fueled by fruits and veggies that flew 2800 miles on a lovely jet plane  delivered by a yummy smelling semi-truck fresh to my local supermarket which I can walk to in my cute furry Uggs.

I do like Uggs.

Eden, instead of trying to find, or love a woman which you obviously have no clue at all other than boasting, bragging off some self help bokks, why not with your cute furry ugly uggs find a male and make a home.  That would be more honest. ;-)

“The Life is Spa!”
(Eden)

Next days, I’m going to natural spas, just a couple of hundreds kilometres away for a week or two, to test out the whole wisdom of this slogan practically.

Natura, no spa can capture the inherent richness, complexity and depths of life.  All these spas are just good for a good escape, nothing else...where one can go and pamper their stressed out bodies and minds and egos.  Sorry, nothing personal to you, but life is no spa no matter how great the spa. Hope you're having a wonderful day! :-)

Pearl, just a pinch of humour is in there.

Of course the life we are her to talk about is different from everything we can perceive in our usual human state…
But it could include everything and spa, too, couldn’t it?

Escaping is an extraordinary important topic you are bringing up here. It belongs together with meditation – deserves very special treatment.

Best wishes to you, too

Sure.  Yes, the humor is ok.  But what are these spa's, natura?  Does a heart and mind that is totally alive and living in the moment with utter vitality, joy, presence live in the desire to go to a spa, or visit the temple, or a so called protest?  Just wondering.  Thanks for the wishes. :-)  The winter is wonderful and we're in love with it.  Some lazy people never go out in the winter and always saying,"I hate winters", or "oh, how can you walk, or run in the cold?".  But there is no greater joy to fill your lungs with the cold air and or play in the open snow covered feilds....umm, the winter sun and snow is calling, bye for now.

Re: no title

I doesn't snow much in these parts of California unfortunately, but it did where I grew up, not far from the Alps. I remember once going to the top of one of those mountains and watching the landscape all around.  Snow covered peaks sparkling under a winter sun, quite a majestic sight.

Re: no title

When I lived in the Alps, snowy mountains’ tops, glaciers, were being seen out of our windows all over the year.

In winter, when the fresh snow covered around the mountains completely, we use to walk up, take off our clothes and rub our bodies with it until they were red like a fire and hot.
Many hours after you feel as if you fly instead you walk.

Now, in coldest part of winter… I just go to the ocean for a swim.

Re: no title

More propaganda.

Museums are looking for articles from that movement, maybe you can cash in on that banner. Movement which is now seen as a 'passing anger'-which is what it is.

Escaping is opposition to meditation. That’s the most important business of human life.
The whole life might be divided in two parts: Either you meditate or you escape.

Many times I tried to start this topic here on the forum…

Troy was very close to meditation. Now he’s gone.

How is he doing now? Maybe someone knows?

it is the no. 1 passion in my life, no question.

trouble is, I have nothing to say about it!!!

Natura, you and I talked a little about meditation once. I still think driving is one of the best times to meditate.  :-)

Yet, I see something to speak about it in common human language, without people would propose to admit you into some special institution immediately, you know where to.

The first and most of all troubles is just ahead of us which is:

No. When you meditate, you escape.

That’s an invitation to endless talking about it instead of doing it.

I know exactly what he means. I know what he wants endlessly tell about it.
I know also he is partly right… but only partly, which means eventually, you know what.
Not that it’s a problem for him. He will find out an argument for everything, no exception.

But meditation is no argumentation; quite the contrary, it supposed to stop it.

Re: no title

There is no such thing as 'partly right'.

You CANNOT meditate. It is not an argument, it is not theoretical. You just can't.

Yes, that’s the same thing I … you so much for.

I remember and know your passion for that.

However, I still think, driving is yet not excluded but not the best place for meditation is. Though, it might be just individual preferences.

Well, then you have a different definition or idea of what meditation is.

Re: no title

Wow, that's what knowing that you KNOW does to one. I was SO right on the money when I said that is not meditation.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ONE'S PREFERENCES. NOTHING AT ALL WHATSOEVER.

You're just playing with concepts, and meditation is not a game.

  To 42.

Re: no title

You see it, RJ

Discussing over meditation must be the meditation itself.

It’s not an easy business to speak about in person, let alone writing.

Krishnamurti told sometimes, not to do it in public.

…just a mess.

As I sad, I was trying many times…

Re: no title

Yeah, everything you hear is being compared to what x said, everything. Therefore, you're not even listening.

Is it possible that you are comparing everything to what x said or your own ideas, instead of listening with an open mind?

Well, I think it's individual preferences, and opportunities.

I am listening, and I see that natura is always bringing up x, what he said, how he saw it-I'm not making it up, it is there. And that means no listening. Perhaps some people are doomed because of x.
