Kindly be mindful of the following points regarding the forum. Dialogue is thinking together - it isn’t debate - and it's inquiring together without end point or agenda. People come into the dialogue from their own place of understanding, which is not going to be your place of understanding. We’re here to communicate together, learn together and gain insight into our own thought; to receive and share our observations, not impose our views on others. Address the comments in a polite, considerate manner. By all means, ask for clarification, but challenge the comment, not the commentator. We don’t know enough about the others to make those judgments and we’re here to learn about ourselves, not to correct another's perceived personality flaws. If a comment brings an emotional response, look at that. Do you feel the need to defend? To attack? Time for some looking inward. Self protection results in war. Besides, the war is in each of us. Stop that war, and the rest will take care of itself. (For some suggestions on the nature of dialogue, please click here)

By the way, was this a condascending post or one of appreciation and gratitude for what I posted? Just curious what your motive or state of mind was when you posted this to me. It is hard to tell via the written word.

it was neither condescending nor appreciative, just a question.

Yes, I just stumbled upon some good K quotes today, on the internet....

Jiddu Krishnamurti Quotes on Relationship

Conflict and confusion result from our own wrong relationship with people, things and ideas, and until we understand that relationship and alter it, mere learning, the gathering of facts and the acquiring of various skills, can only lead us to engulfing chaos and destruction.

Very nicely said.

sds wrote:

In our relationship with children and young people, we are not dealing with mechanical devices that can be quickly repaired, but with living beings who are impressionable, volatile, sensitive, afraid, affectionate; and to deal with them, we have to have great understanding, the strength of patience and love.

Totally so.

sds wrote:

Religious education in the true sense is to encourage the child to understand his own relationship to people, to things and to nature. There is no existence without relationship; and without self-knowledge, all relationship, with the one and with the many, brings conflict and sorrow. Of course, to explain this fully to a child is impossible; but if the educator and the parents deeply grasp the full significance of relationship, then by their attitude, conduct and speech they will surely be able to convey to the child, without too many words and explanations, the meaning of a spiritual life.

Yes.  Very interesting.  There is no need to explain the child what is right behaviour, right action, and or what love, silence is....but a parent who has gone into all this and has self knowledge, thru her/his conduct, patience, affection and warmth will insitll all the right things without imposing, demanding, quarelling, and or by force.  But, since most parents are totally immature so are their offspring who grow upt to think themselves to be little kings and queens of the world lacking compassion, true integrity and simply being clever and without maturity, sensitivity and grace.

Re: Yo sds!

Duality Creates Conflict: Conflict of any kind-physically, psychologically, intellectually-is a waste of energy. Please, it is extraordinarily difficult to understand and to be free of this because most of us are brought up to struggle, to make effort. When we are at school, that is the first thing that we are taught-to make an effort. And that struggle, that effort is carried throughout life-that is, to be good you must struggle, you must fight evil, you must resist, control. So, educationally, sociologically, religiously, human beings are taught to struggle. You are told that to find God you must work, discipline, do practice, twist and torture your soul, your mind, your body, deny, suppress; that you must not look; that you must fight, fight, fight at that so-called spiritual level-which is not the spiritual level at all. Then, socially each one is out for himself, for his family....So, all around, we are wasting energy. And that waste of energy in essence is conflict: the conflict between "I should" and "I should not," "I must" and "I must not." Once having created duality, conflict is inevitable. So one has to understand this whole process of duality-not that there is not man and woman, green and red, light and darkness, tall and short; all those are facts. But in the effort that goes into this division between the fact and the idea, there is the waste of energy. The Book of Life June 2

QUESTION: The whole world of nature is a competition to survive. Is it not innate in humans to struggle for the same reason? And are we not struggling against our basic nature in seeking to change?

Krishnamurti: Don't change. It's very simple. If you want to remain as you are, carry on, nobody is going to prevent you. Religions have tried to civilize man. But they haven't succeeded. On the contrary. Some religions, like Christianity, have killed more people than anybody on earth. Right? I don't know if you have watched this. They have had two appalling wars, and they have killed millions. Not only Stalin and Mao Tse-Tung, these wars have destroyed. Right? And if we carry on this way, not wanting to change, it's all right. But the question is: nature struggles to achieve light, like in a forest, for example. And it is a struggle. Right? The big, the stronger kills the weaker in nature. The tiger kills the deer, the lion kills some other thing, this goes on, this is part of nature. And the questioner says, if it is part of nature, why should we change at all? Because it's intrinsic. Why do we say it's intrinsic? Why do we say, there it's all right, and therefore it's all right with us too; and so why bother to change. It's part of us, part of nature, part of our existence, intrinsically this is what we are. And if that is so, that it is instinct, that it's innate in us, which one questions very deeply, then I can't change anything. But why should we accept that it's innate in us? Is it my indolence that says, "For God's sake, leave it all alone." Is it my sense of exhaustion? Or we are supposed to be as human beings a little more intelligent, little more reasonable, little more sane, and we are supposed to use our sanity, our intelligence, our experience to live differently? Right? To live differently. Perhaps that difference may be total; and not just remain as a mediocre person - which is now being encouraged for human beings to remain mediocre, through their education and all the rest of it.

teflon sam, deflecting everything away from herself.  I have never claimed to be anything other than what I am today.  You continually claim many things about yourself and others, and somehow think it is mature and sensitive.  Fascinating.  I do not group up at all, that is all in your imagination samata.  Do I talk to other people? Sure I do but I do not solicit their friendship in the way you do with vulnerable people like sds.  I know you will not see yourself in this mirror but it is so nevertheless.

Poor joe, still dreamin', still avoiding, still defending what he is, what he has become. SDS is no kid and far intelligent than you can ever conceive.  He doesn't group up, pass clever subtle remarks, pursue people relentlessly like you do.  You are anything but intelligent.  Keep an open mind and you could learn a thing a two from SDS.

You like?  What is it you like?  Firstly, you need to learn what it means to communicate with another, with real respect, real affection, then you don't need to be saying, "I like, I love" and so on.  But for now, your heart and mind is without love, without beauty and from there you say, "I like, I love" which are but divisive lies you tell yourself and others.  If you truly had love, affection in your heart your actions would be completely different.

I did intentionally use her terminology with you, because I found it so cute. She really has some good terminology at times, and it makes me laugh. It was said by my part in good humor and you took it as such, which I appreciate. The image of you as our younger brother, our little friend, was just too much to pass up.

As for being influenced by her, I think not. Everything I am doing on here is done consciously. Pearl can influence me as much as you can or anyone can, hardly or not at all. I look and see everything for myself....

Joe, I looked to see if you were right, if I was indeed vulnerable in regards to Pearl. I looked to see if I was indeed influenced by her, I looked to see why I used her terminology.

In regards to all you pointed out, I have consciously done all and have not been influenced or was vulnerable to Pearls charms or weaving of webs in any, per your analogy....

Joe, I did read this and appreciate your tenacity in trying to get through to me. I already shared everything I can regarding this, it is all there. Lets just leave this now if that is okay. We did converse and share a little on this and I think there is only respect on my end for all of the participants on here. of course operating with respect is important.  Do that and do not just blow off what happens here and it will be respect.  Continue to parrot another without questioning what you are saying and be pulled around by their influence and it is disrespect.  It is just that simple.

Here you do not want to talk about it anymore and to me that is only an indication you do not want to look anymore, as you only copied derogatory comments because that kind of 'violence' appealed to you and you thought it was 'cute'.  I can understand that but am not up for putting rosey glasses on it.
