Kindly be mindful of the following points regarding the forum. Dialogue is thinking together - it isn’t debate - and it's inquiring together without end point or agenda. People come into the dialogue from their own place of understanding, which is not going to be your place of understanding. We’re here to communicate together, learn together and gain insight into our own thought; to receive and share our observations, not impose our views on others. Address the comments in a polite, considerate manner. By all means, ask for clarification, but challenge the comment, not the commentator. We don’t know enough about the others to make those judgments and we’re here to learn about ourselves, not to correct another's perceived personality flaws. If a comment brings an emotional response, look at that. Do you feel the need to defend? To attack? Time for some looking inward. Self protection results in war. Besides, the war is in each of us. Stop that war, and the rest will take care of itself. (For some suggestions on the nature of dialogue, please click here)

Ha, ha! But that doesn't mean resistance. Only Tom's saying that sometimes resistance is good or desirable.

Ok, so you want to continue playing it as if there were someone to get it through to, else there would be no logical reason for a forum such as this, dealing, as it does, with *getting it through to*.

As to that meaning resistance, no, it does not; it only means that this is the direction you thought went and you followed it.

Now, let me re-create that creature you just created. If I do not resist what is given to me, then I will have created no resister, hence, there is no resistance. If I do resist what is given to me, then I will have created a resister, hence, there is a resistance.

If there is no resistance, and that because there is no resister, and that because I am not resisting the given, then everything is indeed crystal clear; like full of light.

Ho!

Re: Again, what is moving inside of bruce's head?

A note from the asylum:

Given a self-reference, that reference may be taken in two incommensurate ways. If those two ways are subsumed by an identity, that identity may then think itself in two incommensurate ways.

The thinker is then tagged as that identity capable of seeing itself in two incommensurate ways.

Let those two ways be held apart, and that identity cannot be made.

How they are held apart depends solely upon the context in which they came apart, and how that separation becomes understood, if ever.

[this edit has bracketed itself]

tomatoes planted on the full moon are yummy for deer...looks like a mother and child by the tracks left.  The dirt fills in the tracks and the deers return as yet unnoticed, the sucker takes the reins and heads for the light. Cage me so I can grow!

Ho!

Following a direction, what is given to you, is the oposite reaction from resisiting it, and so resisting is still there: who is the entity who resists or doesn't resist? The very resister, of course!
