Kindly be mindful of the following points regarding the forum. Dialogue is thinking together - it isn’t debate - and it's inquiring together without end point or agenda. People come into the dialogue from their own place of understanding, which is not going to be your place of understanding. We’re here to communicate together, learn together and gain insight into our own thought; to receive and share our observations, not impose our views on others. Address the comments in a polite, considerate manner. By all means, ask for clarification, but challenge the comment, not the commentator. We don’t know enough about the others to make those judgments and we’re here to learn about ourselves, not to correct another's perceived personality flaws. If a comment brings an emotional response, look at that. Do you feel the need to defend? To attack? Time for some looking inward. Self protection results in war. Besides, the war is in each of us. Stop that war, and the rest will take care of itself. (For some suggestions on the nature of dialogue, please click here)

Friends.

RJ and friends,

In this beautiful afternoon full of joy, a lot of clouds in the sky, the fresh air after the showers, and the sacred sunlight dancing on the green leaves outside the window, I really have not a problem at hand to talk about. Without problems, there is this intense friendliness that must be spread to you. That is all. What can we talk about?

I see that it is almost hopeless for two people to see the same way because they have different ideas and conditionings about things. Only when they are both free do they see together. So what are preventing freedom? Is it fear, hurt, self image, the strong sense of a separate self, belief, dependency on people’s opinions? Or is it a lot more?

Is it the lack of beauty, of real happiness and harmony, and love for the whole life itself, and therefore lack of real energy for action that is true and lasting and always renewing itself, that gives you a sense of falseness and sickness in the midst of life? Because if life is in you and you are life, the order is one that is universal. Is what we need the real understanding that will lead to a true cessation of fragmentation and conflict?

For me, I am seeing the light of freedom through the reflection of myself in the mirror of life, through K’s teachings. And life is not just this little forum.

What is your approach in life? We can pick any topic later or we don’t need to talk at all and be free right now. Ha ha, I like the second option.

At any rate, again, it is a seriously free conversation.

Acceptance, I think is a lack of acceptance, I see so much beauty in what you wrote, and I can say, this is a path, a real one...be free, and be free also mean, to be ordinary, work, pay the bills, be responsable...free is responsability, criativity...yes we are free right now...yes...thank you my friend, whishing you a lovely evening...

if you ask a question to which you know the answer then...
why ask the question?

what do you actually want to talk about? and if there isn't anything, then why talk?

Re: Friends.

Ah, I sense a wonk coming on. Some posts simply light up with the sense of needing to be translated into the language of wonk.

- - -- --- ----- --------

RJ asks a rhetorical sort of question, that folds strangely upon itself. The question was this:

RJ wrote:

if you ask a question to which you know the answer then...
why ask the question? …

There are two separate ways of handling that question; rhetorically and that *other* way, you know, where the question is put to the question, and the next question is about someone asking a question they already know the answer to, and why in the world they would do that sort of thing.

The question, as asked in that *other* way, does not entertain the rhetorical way of handling that question. A rhetorical sort of answer would be because I have an intent in mind that does not have to do with the answer, but with the asking of the question in the first place.

RJ wrote:

… what do you actually want to talk about? …

I, uh, would like to talk about the rhetorical way of taking things; like maybe how the rhetorical perspective has a grounding the *other* perspective does not, like as how the rhetorical sense of being has an absence to it that the *other* could never imagine.

It's about quince pies and catenary curves, and keeping up with the Klutzes, and how fast one must run to keep up.

RJ wrote:

… and if there isn't anything, then why talk?

I suspect it is damned lucky that what I have to talk about is having something to talk about.

To be on both sides of the line at once is not to have drawn the line in the first place.

I should like to thank RJ for offering up his words to be translated into the language of wonk.

And I remind all to pick up their 6-pack of UF.

God knows why Snguyen has any desire to talk with RJ.

Obviously he is not seeing the facts about RJ.

I have seen into RJ and he is a total waste of time.

It is best to just ignore the fellow.

But Sni will have to see that for himself.

Sni, dont mistake cleverness, cunningness, for intelligence.

Intelligence is love, compassion. Without love and compassion there, there is no intelligence.

Are you saying I am sick, I am diseased?

Another interesting diagnosis, analysis by another on here.

It never ends, the analysis of others that is.

If you and I are free, why are you talking about the hopeless?  Isn't that like inviting your best friend out to dinner at the finest restaurant and then talking about dog shit during the entire meal?  Why did you just interject dog shit into the conversation? It started out just fine and then it got all strange.

you have a partner who helps you rub down some of your worser edges
Snu, as far as can be told, has only his own head and here within which to talk about such stuff.
and being in your own head can be a baffling place for even the most dedicated of internaughts.
I figured he was opening up all friendly like and then suddenly got a bolt of paranoia that everything he was about to say could be used in evidence against him (talking to people you don't sleep with can have that kind of effect, actually sometimes the ones you sleep with will do it to you too, oh I see I have digressed from my point, I'm off to be with my wife, goodbye)

Is what we need the real understanding that will lead to a true cessation of fragmentation and conflict?

before I go
this earlier comment could so easily be read as a brush off, especially in light of the subsequent,

it's not, or at least it wasn't meant to be
talking with (as opposed to talking to) people is hard
I'm very happy to try though

you asked a question, what is you approach in life?

well it's a pretty broad question mate, could you narrow it down just a little for me?
I approach food with some degree of trepidation and a larger degree of conscious appreciation
women much the same

what else are you interested in?

oh don't be put off by my other reply to Eden below, above, wherever it is
I do think you are teetering marvellously close to that raggedy edge of insanity and so bursts of bliss interspersed with paranoia and hopelessness are quite understandable, we talked about that before remember. It's hard to know what else anyone should expect when you really start unravelling and analysing the contents of their own minds, ye gods it clearly makes anyone barking mad to get in there for any length of time.

Most people quite wisely avoid thinking completely and these new smart phones, so long as you keep the batteries charged, will enable you to be utterly devoid of any kind of uncomfortable consciousness even in the most unstimulating of environments.
