What is truth?
I think I have finally figured out what seems wrong with that question; it is a question of the sort where one must first know the answer to it before one can answer it. I must first think that I know the answer to it before I can answer it.
Ok, let me think up an answer and answer it. Do I point at something in I know in particular, or do I go abstract and create something that exists because of what it is not?
I just do not have anything in particular that I know that I can tag as truth. I mean, I would have to think that particular and tag it as truth, and believe that I have tagged it correctly.
And the abstract? Truth is that which remains when the false no longer is. Well, at least the possibility of exposure holds here, but then the question itself falls off the shelf.
Well, looks to me like that question only makes sense if there is a directional motive behind it. I suspect bruce will tell me what the answer is.
Oh well…

Sorry to disappoint you but I have no answer.
How are we going to answer it? Is it impossible? Why?

Ha! Color me curious here, bruce. Why are you asking those three questions? I mean, what do you want from me? Are you trying to show me something, or are you asking us to start walking?
Do you see the difference? In one of those worlds, you are going to point out truth to me, and in the other of those two worlds, you and I will speak to things that go bump in the existential night.
God knows, you could have merely been thinking out loud, and I just happened to be listening in. Do you think our rainy season is over?

I already said that I don't have an answer, so I'm not going to tell you what truth is. But can we move towards its discovering, and then towards its expression? If that's possible, that is.

I fear our rainy season is over, and I will have to water the tomatoes with tap water.
Oh well...

No, he is a clone of the usual sort.

He is also a Jesus clone, or a buddha clone.

Without truth life makes very little sense, even when conflict is lacking.

The reason I asked Bruce, if you are a K clone, is because you turned me off big time with your replies in the feelings thread about my cousin.
I have been turned off before by K people, and I find some of them the most assinine, ignorant, lacking compassion type of people.
I may be wrong about you, and you might have sincerely meant well with what you wrote, but it really struck me the wrong way.
To imitate K, to try to act like K, to talk like K, is pure idiocy. I sure hope you are not one of those.....

The consciousness is the same though: empty.
Like I said, it was compassion talking that way, but you expected something else, which is NOT compassion.

But the senses are perverted by thought, so truth is not. The statement stands.

How do I know you arent fooling yourself, deceiving yourself. It is so easy to rationalize anything and to believe in illusions, to believe you are coming from compassion, when you are possibly not.....

You don't and you will not know until you yourself are full of it.

and the air is perverted by volcanic ash. so what. some air is clean, some is polluted. so what.

Living a life entrenched in thought, even when functioning rationally, means very little.

There are trillions of organisms on this planet whose senses are not perverted by 'thought'.
There are humans that are mostly polluted by thoughts, and some that are mostly unpolluted. The whole spectrum exists. So what?

Some are entrenched some are not. Some air has ash, some does not. Why the importance placed on one part of the spectrum?

Humans are in charge of the planet. Human have thought, but they also have the potential to discover truth, animals don't. Animals, therefore, live in fear.

I could just as easily say that microbes are in charge of the planet, and that would actually be closer to the truth. Your statement is immature, and absurd on every level and your beliefs rule your life, like it does for the 99%.
