Kindly be mindful of the following points regarding the forum. Dialogue is thinking together - it isn’t debate - and it's inquiring together without end point or agenda. People come into the dialogue from their own place of understanding, which is not going to be your place of understanding. We’re here to communicate together, learn together and gain insight into our own thought; to receive and share our observations, not impose our views on others. Address the comments in a polite, considerate manner. By all means, ask for clarification, but challenge the comment, not the commentator. We don’t know enough about the others to make those judgments and we’re here to learn about ourselves, not to correct another's perceived personality flaws. If a comment brings an emotional response, look at that. Do you feel the need to defend? To attack? Time for some looking inward. Self protection results in war. Besides, the war is in each of us. Stop that war, and the rest will take care of itself. (For some suggestions on the nature of dialogue, please click here)

Re: What would K say about the modern spiritual teachers?

The so called "self" is a myth, an idea.  There is no such thing at all. Unless you mean that sense of self-protection that all babies are born with--which brings up the obvious fact that we are born only with that which we need for survival.  Or maybe you think the self and the appendix are both vestigial in nature, and serve no function or purpose?

The brain naturally matures through all layers of "self" as it matures and dies. Some brains mature more slowly due to an infinite numbers of forces acting upon them, and some mature more quickly. Most die while still "green".

Such is the tree of life.

To see the 'self' as an idea is in itself an idea.

I don't know bruce, for someone with 8798 conversations you had with others, you seem to remain unaffected. Your boundaries are very clear, i don't mean that in a negative way, just that what Bruce will say seems to be known in advance, much like Krishnamurti. You know i was planing to do a video of J.K, where he sits opposite to someone and that someone mentions the word Experience, and J.K does his usual reaction: Oh, no no, Sir - while juggling his jelly fingers close to his head......then it repeats. The other keep saying different words, like: Let ME THINK about it: and J.K does the same reaction, Oh, no no Sir - and juggles his fingers. Then Am concentrating, am concentration, am concentrating, - Oh, no no Sir - juggles his fingers. Time, time, time - Oh, no no Sir, and juggles his fingers. Guru, Guru guru, - Oh, no no Sir, and juggles his fingers.........I think that would have been funny video, but am not familiar with video editing to do it.........your reactions are entertaining as J.K's, and again i don't mean that in negative way, don't say: Oh, no no Sir, and juggle your fingers - when you see in one sentence 'Bruce' and 'reaction'.....

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-59bP … s463/1.jpg

Why is it funny to be seeing the facts, actual facts, not concepts? Because when you see the actual thing your reaction may be different. When I talk about ther war, that war is an actuality, people killing each other, not just the word war: and the same with fear, or whatever you may happen to look at. The relationship with the observed changes, whatever that observed may be.

when i see the ACTUAL - happiness and joy are overhelming. True that there is war, people do horible things and that to me is heart breaking, the actuality is my only healer, and that is my responsibilities, to BE ACTUALITY, while people can choose to be whatever they want, they have too choose to live another way, i cannot make them DO IT and BE IT.

You are saying, like many here, that you're free of problems, and somehow there's no connection between you and the world. Then I have to say that free of problems you're not.

Did you even read my whole post or did you stop after the first line like a pompous ass?  Define self, and show me its boundaries. I just clearly explained that the brain matures through all expressions of "self", from infancy. It's a natural process. That is a fact. Do you deny it?

Re: What would K say about the modern spiritual teachers?

The self is real, just like color is real. The emotions it triggers are very much real. So don't say it's an idea.

Re: What would K say about the modern spiritual teachers?

Another weak dodge.  Define your terms.  Prove to me it is not just an abstraction or  idea in bruceys fragmented head. Define "self" so I can see it.

Re: What would K say about the modern spiritual teachers?

All the emotions we go through ARE that self. The self is not something compact: it's all over the place-those feelings are all over the place.

Ahh, so self=emotions essentially.  So a selfless human body is emotionless?

emotions are trivial??  the self is trivial? according to you the emotions/self are the cause of all the suffering in the world and now a question about emotions is trivial?? your brain seems to be severely damaged.

there are challenges, but no experience of BEING PROBLEM. There is only one of us, the connection is that there is no DIVISION, if you do see that as ACTUALITY, where is the problem?

The problem is that mankind is roted in conflict. This is not a challenge but an actuality.

I'm showing you that you don't seem interested in what the world is doing. You have found a panacea-is that freedom?
