Is Freedom from Conditioning Really Possible?

In this talk, drawing upon Krishnamurti’s teachings, Dr. Hillary Rodrigues inquires into the nature of conditioning. Krishnamurti often points to how pervasive conditioning can be, and yet points to the possibility of a radical transformation of consciousness that offers freedom from conditioning. But is such complete freedom from conditioning truly possible? If so, how? And what would be the nature of an unconditioned mind? Has anyone attained it? But if freedom is not possible, what does this imply about the quest for freedom and transformation?

Dr. Hillary Rodrigues is professor of religious studies at the University of Lethbridge and author of Krishnamurti’s Insight, An Examination of his Teachings on the Nature of Mind and Religion and co-authored both: Introduction to the Study of Religion and Introducing Hinduism (click here.)
